CHILDREN IN NEED 2022
Children in Need - 18th November 2022
Children In Need is an amazing charity that helps children and young people in the UK and has been going since 1927! 1980 was when they first did TV broadcast show on BBC channel, like the one we watch now, and they managed to raise £1 million. Pudsey bear joined us in 1985 as the mascot for the charity, and at Excellect we will be supporting the cause by wearing our Pudsey merchandise! Over the years the charity has managed to raise lots of money for their cause and in 2018 they reach £1 billion raised since 1980!
Some small charities Children in Need support near us at Excellect are Mothers for Mothers, who help new mothers who have post-natal depression, by offering support groups. Young Bristol, who support young people who are at risk of offending, by providing sessions that will help to improve their wellbeing, mental health and self-confidence. Youth Moves ltd, who support young people in low-income families, by providing 1-2-1 mentoring and activities to help improve emotional wellbeing.
At Excellect we love taking part in charity events and fundraising, with our main charity we're supporting in 2022 being St Peter's Hospice. This year for Children in Need, we decided to have an in-house cake sale, including lots of yummy bits to fundraise and support the charity. It was a hit with everyone in the office and we managed to raise £116 for Children in Need 2022!
The main event that everyone tunes into for Children in Need is The Great SPOTacular Appeal Night, on Friday 18th November, but there are many other shows supporting it and doing Children in Need specials leading up to appeal night that you could watch, including:
